María Laura Gimeno es Licenciada en Biotecnología y PhD en Ciencia y Tecnología, con formación en Argentina.
Durante su formación, se especializó en el estudio de células madre, particularmente las células MUSE-AT, y su aplicación en enfermedades autoinmunes y neurodegenerativas.
Con una sólida trayectoria en medicina regenerativa, recientemente lideró en Costa Rica un ensayo clínico Fase 2A con células MUSE-AT para el tratamiento de la enfermedad de Parkinson.
Actualmente, brinda asesoría científica a diversas empresas, incluyendo Provida en Costa Rica, promoviendo el uso responsable y clínicamente fundamentado de células madre en terapias regenerativas dirigidas a distintas patologías.
